We are proud of our talented and imaginative second graders. It is our
goal to provide them with a challenging and rigorous curriculum that
addresses the individual needs and learning styles of our students.
Included in our curriculum is the district selected Mondo Reading
series as well as Everyday Math. We give our students a comprehensive
Aerospace curriculum which includes two planetarium visits discussing
moon phases and constellations. We focus on the pioneers of aviation
mainly Bessie Coleman,Charles Lindbergh and Amelia Earhart. We look
forward to seeing our students attend the hands-on science night in
February. Additional activities in second grade include: Children's
Museum, The Minnesota Zoo, Young Rembrandts, Artists in Residence,
awards ceremonies and family nights.
Second grade has the following curriculum;
Every Day Math, Mondo Reading Series, Reading First, Writers Workshop, Aerospace Science. Students also have second grade music, art, physical education, computer, library and select student enrichment.
There are after school activities provided for student success.
