Our mission is to provide challenging academics that will prepare the next generation of explorers.  Our school community will inspire students and their families to examine,
understand and protect our planet and beyond.

Astronaut Heide Stefanyshyn-Piper returns to Farnsworth, May 1st.
Day today for K-6 grades.  The event was held at Bethel University, 9:30 am-2:15 pm.


visited on May 1, 2009.  We held two assemblies in her honor.  Heide is a hometown hero from St. Paul. On STS-126, Heide completed her second mission to the ISS where she carried a Farnsworth Tshirt with the names of every student and staff from the 2007-2008 school year to space with her.  Heide presented this Tshirt back to our school during the assembly.

Ms. Lovestrand and Mr. Divita chaperoned some 5th and 6th grade students to the Future Problem Solvers State Bowl on April 18th at Roseville High School.  The future scene involved Counterfeit

Economies.
  We will soon know the results. 
Students went to state as a Team: Pao T., Jahric W., Stazee K., and PaKou X. as Individuals: Hector and Melody.

Two students from Farnsworth were placed in the MN DOT
2009 Minnesota Aviation Art Contest.

Retired astronaut, "Digger" Duane Carey visited our school and showed exclusive videos of his past mission to space. Thank you for visiting and making our day feel special. It was awesome!!
Digger shared his experience with all grade levels.  Here, he is entertaining questions from the Kindergarten students. Digger takes time to pose with future astronauts! There were many kids that wanted to be like Digger! See all 6 images.

Fifth and sixth graders went to visit the Challenger Learning Center and Illinois Wesleyan Univ. on Jan. 6-9. Betty Shanahan also visited our school on Jan. 16th.

Engineer Family Night
On March 12, 2009 from 6:30-8:00 pm, we will hold an Engineering Family Night in the school gymnasium (Cleveland site).  We will have great learning experience.  View pictures from last year's event!!

Space Camp 2007
On Sunday, October 7, thirty-four students and six chaperones ventured off to Space Camp in Huntsville, AL.  They will return on Friday, Oct. 12.  Use this page to follow our students.
